Ranking Every Randy Orton Vs. Triple H WWE Match Ever
1. No Mercy 2007 (Match #2)
Last Man Standing matches tend to be hit or miss, but Triple H and Randy Orton have knocked it out of the park almost every time they've fought in said stipulation, especially at No Mercy 2007.
Less than two hours removed from their first match on the night when HHH swiftly beat Orton mere minutes into his title reign to become the new WWE champion, they collided for a second time in the main event. Between the countless close calls and Jim Ross' fantastic commentary, Orton and Triple H outdid themselves with this outing, making the most of a bad situation as John Cena's injury caused him to miss the show.
The drama was superb, the action was exceptional, and the atmosphere was electric inside the Allstate Arena. Orton won as cleanly as he could, and in the process, he firmly cemented himself as the new top dog on Monday nights. It'd be a while before he was knocked off his pedestal and rightfully so.
For all the underwhelming matches Orton and HHH had produced in the past (as well as in the future), there's no denying that Triple H played his part in solidifying Orton as the perennial main event player he is today. Without this win, it's possible The Viper would have never reached that next level in WWE, making this match monumental in more ways than one.
