Austin's record setting third Royal Rumble win gave him a championship match at Wrestlemania against The Rock, who together had been the two biggest stars during the most successful period of WWE history. The two clashed in a No Disqualification match, and fittingly, the match started as a out and out fist fight, spilling to the outside and into the crowd. As it returned to the ring, each man exchanged signature moves, throwing everything they had at each other. The crowd were loving every minute of it, and helped make the match as good as it was. Towards the end, Vince McMahon would come down to ringside and ultimately cost The Rock the championship. Austin & McMahon, despite being each other's arch-nemesis over the past few years, had teamed up to allow Austin to become champion, an act that would usher in a whole new era in pro-wrestling.
