Once the Riott Squad appeared on Raw to attack Bayley and Sasha Banks, it was obvious that Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville would join their old leader Paige on SmackDown. On Raw, they were on the fringes, but who's to say that'll magically change now they're working Tuesdays?

There's been a woeful lack of character development for both. WWE barely even attempted to explain why Rose and Deville remained pals once Paige bolted to SmackDown and filled the vacant GM role.

Just giving a group a name isn't enough in an era when NXT call-ups are abundant, so if Rose and Deville want to be successful on SmackDown they're going to need a little context. Or, they might be better off splitting and carving their own respective paths.

One thing's for sure: Paige, as a babyface character in the GM role, doesn't need their backup any longer.
