A magnificently executed clinic without a finish, this would rank higher had they committed to beating one or the other back in June 1997.

Austin had turned up the attitude across the whole show and Shawn Michaels visibly enjoyed levelling up to it before his formal heel turn in the summer. This was wonderful sign of the where the product was headed following 'The Rattlesnake's transcendent battles with Bret Hart.
