15. D-Generation X Vs. Jeri-Show (TLC 2009)

First TLC Match - SummerSlam

Given the array of talent involved in this one, it’s no surprise that a cast of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho and the Big Show managed to put on a fun match with the Unified Tag Team Championships on the line at TLC 2009. Again though, a ‘fun match’ doesn’t quite cut it when it comes to TLC, and this one just felt like it was once again missing that special something to elevate it from good to great.

There were some inventive spots along the way, including Michaels and Triple H suplexing a ladder onto a prone Jericho, as well as some interesting ways around the fact that Big Show had torn apart the one ladder tall enough to reach the belts...

One attempt at a solution saw Jericho climb onto Show’s shoulders and reach for the gold, although it didn’t go quite to plan. Michaels’ Sweet Chin Music saw Jericho eventually take a tumble from those towering shoulders, but he fell just short of the ringside table he was supposed to crash through, which kind of detracted from the planned finish.

Ultimately, I feel like this one falls into the increasingly over-crowded 'solid-yet-unspectacular' category.
