Ranking Every Triple H WrestleMania Match From Worst To Best
5. Vs. Batista - WrestleMania 21
The far superior of the former Evolution teammates' WrestleMania grudge matches, if only for the cathartic release of Big Dave finally seeing off his one-time mentor and successfully being handed the World Heavyweight Championship baton.
After all, wrestling is at its finest when it makes you feel something. All the technical prowess in the world can't replace a compelling narrative and in The Game's unsuccessful attempts to manipulate the potential-soaked Animal, and Batista's coming into his own just in time to conquer The Cerebral Assassin at the height of his infamous Reign of Terror at 'Mania 21, WWE had captured exactly that.
Admittedly, the bout itself isn't too much to write home about. Yet, some cheeky added colour courtesy of Levesque and Trips once again making a chosen one look like a million bucks via some drowsy consuming of the eventual Drax's offence all teed up the challenger to epically break free from the Pedigree and nail his Batista Bomb for the win.
The guard was successfully changed and the theme of Triple H's best work coming on the nights that saw him stare up at the lights was already in full swing.
