24 hours later, AJ Styles trumped Sheamus and Cesaro by beating Jinder Mahal to become WWE Champion in the same Manchester venue. Nobody saw this one coming. This was SmackDown in the UK, for crying out loud. Even if you ignore the fact major title changes rarely happen outside of North America, the foundations had already been built for Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.

Somewhere along the line, WWE changed plans, or maybe this was the plan all along. Styles vs. Lesnar is definitely more appealing to fans. For the record, this was also the first time the WWE Title has ever changed hands outside the United States. Manchester can be proud, because it happened in the UK.

By far, this is the most meaningful title change WWE have booked in the UK since they started touring here.
