11. Armageddon Rules Match

Ah the Armageddon Rules match. Another unnecessarily complex match stipulation of days-gone-by that - other than having a cool name - served no real purpose whatsoever.

Now, you might think 'Hold on a moment dude, it did serve a purpose because it brought an end to the feud between The Lord of Darkness and the Executioner' and you'd be absolutely right; it did. The problem is that the match itself literally had no sole purpose - the reason being that there were two.

Not only did 'Taker have to pin The Executioner, he then had to wait for the referee to initiate a 10-count (à la Last Man Standing rules) before being crowned the victor. So yeah, it was basically a No DQ and Last Man Standing match all rolled into one - a Texas Deathmatch, if you will.

It sounded alright in theory and the match at In Your House: It's Time wasn't particularly awful, but it was designed with one specific ending in mind. Without that ending, the concept would have completely fallen apart.
