2. Finn Bálor Wins His First World Title In WWE
Finn Bálor made a dream debut on RAW in 2016 as he defeated some of the top stars of the company, including Roman Reigns, on his first night. The Irishman set up a clash with Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. While the fans did not expect WWE to put the title on Finn's shoulder so early, they took everyone aback by booking 'The Demon King' to down the former world champion.
The only disappointing development from that match was the injury that 'The Leader of the Bálor Club' suffered. A botched buckle bomb forced the former NXT Champion to stay out of the ring for nine months. Even though his reign lasted for less than 24 hours, Bálor will go down in the history books as the first-ever Universal Champion.
Also, the Creative team received a thumbs up from the wrestling universe because they pushed an NXT star to the top.
