Ranking Every Woman To Have Held The WWE NXT Women's Championship
5. Charlotte Flair
It was evident from the moment Charlotte Flair debuted in NXT six years ago that she was destined to be one of the division's most important players. Despite being an incredible athlete, she wasn't overly impressive in the ring at that point and paled in comparison to everyone vying for the NXT Women's Championship when it was first introduced.
Thanks to her ties with Summer Rae and Sasha Banks, Charlotte wasted no time in working her way up the ladder and beating some of the best the division had to offer. Once Paige was called up to the main roster in April 2014, there was no better successor to the NXT Women's Championship crown than the Flair family scion.
At the first-ever TakeOver special, Charlotte put to rest any doubt that she wasn't a top-tier talent with her breakout match against Natalya and by becoming the new champ. That merely marked the beginning of her rise to greatness, as the rest of her reign wasn't devoid of above-average matches, either.
Whether it was Summer Rae, Bayley or Sasha Banks, no one could hold a candle to Charlotte in the remainder of 2014. Her near-nine month title run came to an end at the hands of Banks at TakeOver: Rival, and less than six months later, she joined the main roster.
Long before she was winning championships on Raw and SmackDown, NXT was The Queen's kingdom.
