13. WrestleMania VIII

A good show when the company could have really done with a great one, WrestleMania VIII had moments that stand out more now than they did at the time as the organisation tried and failed to escape from various scandalous quagmires.

Randy Savage and Ric Flair had a superb WWE Title match. Roddy Piper and Bret Hart had a f*cking exceptional Intercontinental Title match. Sid Justice was also there.

Indeed the main event featuring the soon-to-depart future 'Sycho' was overshadowed by another high profile exit. Hulk Hogan used the show to get out of dodge for a while, begrudgingly passing the baton to The Ultimate Warrior (not for the first time) as the painted maniac briefly healed 1991 wounds with Vince McMahon to return looking half his old size as steroid accusations overwhelmed the entire industry.
