Ranking EVERY WWE Champion From Worst To Best

42. The Miz

The Miz WWE champion
WWE

Because The Miz is The Miz, it's easy to look down on his reigns with the WWE Championship as jokes. As reflections of exactly where the company was at the point at which it was ready to crown a former reality television star and bang average wrestler as its top star. As is often the case, these perceptions aren't entirely fair.

When he won Money In The Bank in 2010, he was absolutely the best person to carry the case. He'd spoke his success into existence during a United States Championship run that drew surprising critical acclaim, but suffered the fate of being the third man in a two-man programme when The Rock returned to the patrol the perimeter of his WrestleMania XXVII match with John Cena.

History repeated a decade later when 'The A-Lister' won the briefcase from Otis and cashed in on Drew McIntyre. He accepted help from Bobby Lashley in exchange for the 'All-Mighty' getting a shot to set up his 'Show Of Shows' contest with McIntyre, and was subsequently squashed. A thank you gesture of a run more than any kind of nod to him getting more time on top, it was yet again a case of Miz being perhaps the best middling utility figure the company have ever had. Not the most glamorous title perhaps, but one more befitting than that of Champion.
