8. Big Show

You really have to feel a little bad for Big Show. When he first burst onto the scenes of WWE programming, making his surprise debut at St. Valentine's Day Massacre, the expectations were through the roof and the world was his oyster.

But due to the incessant heel/face turns they put him through in his first year, fans gradually lost interest in the giant. To make matters worse, they put the WWE Championship when he wasn't ready for it, and during a time when no one really cared about him.

In order to give Triple H some time to recalibrate his angle, Big Show takes Stone Cold's spot in the title match at Survivor Series - due to a kayfabe injury earlier in the night - and wins the title from Triple H.

Rather than use this as an opportunity to reestablish him as a dominant force in the company, they start throwing every mid-carder at him they can find, including Big Boss Man, The British Bulldog, Hardcore Holly, Viscera, and Prince Albert.

Needless to say, there was nothing particularly impressive about Big Show's first title run aside from the fact that fans didn't boycott the product during these very rough couple of months.

What could have been one of the most dominant title runs of the time turned into a booking disaster that barely registers with even the most diehard fans of the Attitude Era.
