At long last, Elimination Chamber delivered a near-perfect convergence of action, violence and stakes in the way it had promised to for nearly two decades. And, typically, it didn't have much to do with the giant structure.

Something was happening.

Kofi Kingston's hour-long effort to prove his worth on the go-home SmackDown Live made him the firm favourite here, even if his opposing heels and faces alike had no truck for such sentiment.

A good Chamber suddenly flew beyond great thanks to an exhilarating closing stretch. Mimicking then and eclipsing the WWE Champion's iconic 2012 closer with Santino Marella, Bryan and Kofi Kingston engaged in a 12-minute one-on-one thriller after already enduring nearly half an hour in the match itself. The pair chased, captured and controlled the heat around Kofi's unlikely victory with magnificent ease - a Trouble In Paradise counter highlighted the gripping final third before Bryan retained.

That Kofi took his title on the company's 'Grandest Stage' only makes it better in hindsight too.
