This one will be remembered as a pretty fun match, thanks largely to the fairytale ending that never was, in which Santino Marella came within a whisker of winning the World Heavyweight Championship and heading to WrestleMania as champion. Ultimately though, he’d fall at the final hurdle as Daniel Bryan managed to retain.

Of course, looking at this in hindsight, that memory of Santino coming so close sometimes makes us forget the rest of the match. Much of the earlier action had been a little pedestrian; which may or may not be a direct result of adding the Great Khali to the mix after the Big Show had already filled our obligatory quota of giants.

Also, fun isn’t necessarily the word of choice you’d expect to use when describing an Elimination Chamber match.

Ultimately, this was likely a case of those final moments exceeding what had been a fairly low expectation bar, which doesn’t necessarily reflect so well on the overall match as a whole.
