Ranking Every WWE Elimination Chamber Match In History
17. Triple H Vs. Goldberg Vs. Chris Jericho Vs. Shawn Michaels Vs. Randy Orton Vs. Kevin Nash (SummerSlam 2003)
Back to the realm of disappointing booking now with the Elimination Chamber main event from SummerSlam 2003.
With an undefeated Goldberg setting his sights on Triple H’s World Heavyweight Championship, it was eventually agreed (after a bit of back and forth) that at SummerSlam, he’d finally get his hands on his man—as well as a supporting cast of four others.
Not that the extra numbers made too much of a difference. Goldberg went on to eliminate Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Jericho within four mad minutes of leaving his pod, before turning his attention to Triple H... who promptly struck Goldberg with a sledgehammer and slithered in to pick up the victory.
Obviously this wasn’t the result many had hoped for, and while it was engineered to make Goldberg’s eventual title win even sweeter, this was SummerSlam after all: the perfect stage for a feel-good ending and for Goldberg to finally have his moment.
The match itself may have been exciting enough, especially with Goldberg’s four-minute flurry, but the ending left an overwhelming bitterness that’s difficult to forget.
