Here are the inaugural WWE Mixed Match Challenge winners.

What a difference nine months makes. When the first MMC kicked off this past January, Asuka was on the cusp of winning the first ever female Royal Rumble match and securing herself a debut featured spot at WrestleMania 34. In September, she's aligning with Naomi to fend off The IIconics because she has nothing better to do.

The Miz is faring a bit better. He's currently locked in a bitter feud with Daniel Bryan, and will work alongside his wife Maryse at Hell in a Cell against Bryan and Brie Bella. Wait a minute. Miz and Maryse, Bryan and Brie. Why weren't those teams picked for the follow-up Mixed Match Challenge?

Matches in the first tourney, with a few exceptions, were hardly strenuous. Maryse and Bella, though not full-time in-ring workers these days, would have found them a breeze to stroll through. As it is, Miz and Asuka only rank so high because of their prior success.
