Money In The Bank Ranked
WWE

The night that saw the first HISTORIC Women's Money In The Bank match should have been a celebration for women's wrestling and a monumental event that pushed the women to the forefront of the card. However, that was most definitely not the case. The first-ever Women's briefcase was won by a man. James Ellsworth secured the victory for Carmella and left the WWE Universe around the world stunned and confused, with many being unsure whether that was the actual finish.

There was some good that came from this show, however, with both ladder matches being impressive bouts and excellent displays of physicality from all the superstars involved. The finish of the women's bout ruined it slightly but the action in the match was fantastic from bell to bell. During the men's match, a potential dream match of AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura was teased and the crowd in St. Louis, Missouri tried their best to create a special atmosphere throughout the night.

The men's main event battle saw many spots pulled out, with AJ Styles hanging from the briefcase above the ring, as well as Baron Corbin slamming 'The Phenomenal One' on to a ladder bridge between the ring and the announce table.

However, not even an engaged live crowd could save the WWE Championship match between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton. The hometown boy was always going to be cheered against the 'Modern Day Maharaja', even when he almost killed Samir Singh - seriously, that RKO on the announce table was horrifying. This match was slow and methodical and, in typical Orton fashion, it was not a barn-burner.

Overall, the 2017 Money In The Bank pay-per-view had its positives, but it came out with more negatives, which leaves it sitting low in this ranking.
