Ranking Every WWE NXT Commentator From Worst To Best

9. Tony Dawson

If the name Tony Dawson doesn't ring any bells, it really shouldn't. And no, he was not related to NXT's Scott Dawson in any way. Rather, he was just a forgettable commentator. He wasn't nearly as obnoxious as some of the aforementioned announcers, but in being generic as he was, he didn't do anything to stand out in the minds of fans.

Dawson had an extensive background in broadcasting before coming to WWE in covering the NBA, MLB, and NHL, among other sports. Although he was natural on the microphone and called the moves as he saw them, what he lacked was passion, and that was evident throughout his tenure in NXT from late 2012 to September 2013.

Dawson's voice can most famously be heard calling Sami Zayn's NXT debut as well as his classic contest against Cesaro from that same summer. Other than that, you would be hard-pressed to find a memorable match Dawson called that he actually contributed to in any significant way.
