Ranking Every WWE NXT Commentator From Worst To Best
10. Alex Riley
It was apparent from the moment he was partnered up with The Miz on the second season of NXT that officials had big plans for him in the future. He was barely above average in the ring, but in possessing the gift of gab, he and Miz were the perfect pairing.
They were equally entertaining rivals when they ultimately went their separate ways in mid-2011, and despite showing signs of potential as a singles star, Riley's push eventually fizzled out and he was taken off television all together.
By the spring of 2013, WWE decided to utilize Riley in another capacity by putting him on commentary. He actually did a decent job at first alongside Josh Mathews on WWE Superstars, as well as on NXT, but there came a point where he was almost unbearable to listen to.
Some announcers, such as Corey Graves, can pull off the heel announcer shtick wonderfully. Although Riley was a great heel earlier on in his career, that didn't translate to his commentary skills. He long overstayed his welcome behind the booth before being transitioned back into a wrestling role in 2015.
