It seems as if all fans love to hate on Byron Saxton these days, and sometimes, rightfully so. Whilst he isn't an awful announcer by any stretch, when you already have Michael Cole and Corey Graves calling the action on Raw, Saxton's presence behind the booth on Monday nights simply isn't needed.

What got him noticed by management, however, was his solid stint as NXT's lead color commentator from 2013 to 2015. Saxton previously wrestled in the original incarnation of NXT, but it was obvious he had a much brighter future as an announcer given how his mic skills surpassed his in-ring ability.

He wasn't any better of a commentator back then than he is now, but he was at least competent, built a rapport with fans, and earned the respect of the audience over time. He especially shined when it was only him and Tom Phillips, so reverting back to a two-man booth would do him wonders.
