9. Elimination Chamber
Less than two full weeks later, WWE were back on pay-per-view again, albeit this time back in the States for Elimination Chamber on 8 March. This would become the final supershow stop before the worldwide pandemic shut down live crowds, but it was more house show special than must-see marvel.
The Chamber gimmick, much like Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank, is looking very tired in 2020. This was concrete proof that it's time for WWE to quit promoting these things every springtime before WrestleMania - it's neither thrilling for fans to see storylines forced to fit calendars, nor helpful to the actual gimmick itself.
Thank God for Shayna Baszler's hard-hitting approach then.
There was next-to-nothing of any value on this pay-per-view outside her main event win and the promise that Baszler would challenge Becky Lynch at 'Mania. Nothing came across as essential (fans knew Shayna was winning), and there wasn't a World Title hook to pin down proceedings.
