6. Money In The Bank

WWE produce some of their best stuff when they're forced to think outside Vince McMahon's usual comfort zone. Money In The Bank was indicative of that, and it also proved that cinematic silliness was quickly becoming WWE's new jam. That cross-pollinated male/female briefcase brawl was absurd.

Absurd, but bags of fun.

Drew McIntyre had a serious wrestling match with Seth Rollins earlier, and Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt got a pass because it didn't try to do anything other than rely on both men's combined history. Then, the MITB chaos at WWE HQ swallowed up almost half an hour of pay-per-view run time by delivering cameos, food fights, laughs and satisfying winners in Asuka and Otis.

No, matches like Bobby Lashley vs. R-Truth and Bayley vs. Tamina weren't great, but MITB's relatively short duration (WWE didn't kick the arse out of things like they normally do) and that slapstick headliner saved the day.
