While most of the B shows in 2017 have been rather underwhelming, Extreme Rules surpassed all expectations and brought forth an incredibly fun night of action. From a gripping Hardyz/Shesaro cage match to Neville and Aries having what was probably the best of their three PPV bouts, the undercard highlighted how much WWE excels when they put forth effort.

But, of course, not everything was sunshine and roses. There was the infamous Kendo Stick on a Pole match which did a lot of damage to Bayley’s character that has still yet to be fully repaired. But when considering the strength of the matches surrounding it, it’s hard to do anything other than shrug at RAW’s treatment of Bayley.

However, what catapulted this show into A- territory was the main event, a blisteringly good fatal-5-way between some of the best talents on RAW. For nearly 30 minutes, Joe, Reigns, Rollins, Wyatt, and Bálor put on one of the best multi-man spotfests in recent memory, and the shock Samoa Joe win was just the icing on the cake. Extreme Rules left everyone feeling good about WWE, and it’s not hard to see why.
