Like a fine wine, 1994's Royal Rumble gets better with every passing year.

Bret Hart and Lex Luger's immaculate double elimination was allegedly a real life litmus test for Vince McMahon to determine just who his top star really was in the hearts and minds of his audience, with both being disadvantaged by earlier attacks before heroically overcoming odds.

But everybody given focus over-achieves here. Diesel booked himself a main event push running through the field early doors, Shawn Michaels entered a performance on par with his coast-to-coast run the following year and even a neon-clad Thurman 'Sparky' Plugg made the best of his pay-per-view alongside a spirited cast of underrated New Generation midcarders.
