The lifeblood of the SmackDown tag team division The New Day joined the 'B' show during the Superstar Shakeup of 2017. It took them little time to win the tag titles as they defeated The Usos in a classic encounter at Battleground 2017 and claimed the number one position.

The feud between the two elite teams quickly became the hottest one on SmackDown. This division was struggling to survive in 2016-17, but after the Power of Positivity arrived on Tuesday nights, the tag team crowns regularly featured on pay-per-view events. Due to a lack of credible units, WWE had to extend the feud between The New Day and The Usos for months. The two groups created magic whenever they stepped inside the squared circle together.

The trio of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods battled with almost every team, but they delivered only one crowd-pulling feud. Their No Disqualification match against The Bludgeon Brothers for the titles defined their eminence. Substantial merchandise sales also played a considerable role in their success. However, their dull feud with The Revival in 2019 stained their excellent run on the blue brand.
