Jimmy and Jey Uso headed the SmackDown tag team division in its first three years. WWE drafted them to the blue brand when they were babyface stars. However, during their rivalry with American Alpha, the Samoan twins embraced their dark side and gave up their stale face characters. This gimmick change propelled them to the top of the department as their heel avatars added new layers to their bland personality. The Usos won their maiden SmackDown Tag Team Championships in 2017.

They had a below-par feud with American Alpha, but Breezango's hilarious skits during their rivalry with The Usos made up for some 'must-watch' content. The earlier slide highlighted their intense feud with The New Day, where the Samoan twins emerged victorious in the spectacular series of matches. Their clash with The Bar produced epic two-on-two bouts, whereas the rap battle segments brought freshness to the division. Furthermore, the Samoans showcased their other talent during these segments.

They left the show for a while in 2019, and that brief period proved to be the darkest time for the blue brand's two-on-two wrestling section. Their last title triumph came at Elimination Chamber 2019 with a victory over The Miz and Shane McMahon.

The Hardy Boyz won the belts from them before Jimmy and Jey departed for RAW. The SmackDown creative team relied heavily on Roman Reigns' cousins to keep this wrestling form alive on the secondary show.
