The Good: Edge's return at the conclusion of a sensational Undertaker/Batista main event didn't feel like a ripoff ending to a classic. Yet more clinical character work saw the two clash repeatedly the following year. Randy Orton and Shawn Michaels had one of 'The Viper's better WWE Championship offerings despite restrictive stipulations, whilst a babyface superteam of Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Kane and Rey Mysterio were a riot bantering off a heel goon squad in a midcard elimination match.

The Bad: The 10-Diva Tag Team match was decided by one pinfall. This was frustratingly familiar stuff...

The Ugly: ...as was the absurdity on display in The Great Khali's match with Hornswoggle. Clearly buzzing to book the comedy match of his dreams, Vince McMahon was even ringside the encounter in a sanguine show of support for his storyline son. It was a waste of everybody's time but his.
