The Good: The debuting Elimination Chamber gimmick was perfect save for Triple H's throat getting crushed by Rob Van Dam's shin early doors. His efforts were genuinely impressive - nobody was putting Shawn over at the end but him. Madison Square Garden looked and felt energised despite a woeful year for the company. Matches that otherwise may have sagged shone under the bright lights of the company's home base. Scott Steiner's debut was white hot, too. "Give [him] a f*cking mic", indeed.

The Bad: The Big Show and Shawn Michaels winning WWE Championships didn't really jive with the alleged post-Attitude Era youth movement. The 'SmackDown Six' had delighted on television in virtually any combination, but the long-awaited pay-per-view effort ultimately underwhelmed.

The Ugly: Not a lot, though Brock Lesnar's undefeated streak ending in 4:18 initially seemed rather tragic.
