17. Daniel Bryan Vacates (June 9, 2014)

Bobby Lashley
WWE

WWE at large felt like the boy who cried wolf when Daniel Bryan was actually forced by physisian to give up the company's top title in 2014 - they'd scripted it so heavily in the past that this felt like just another chapter in the story nobody wanted.

This was an altogether heftier slice of reality - Bryan was legitimately hurt, would be gone for a while, and the belts were to be fought over in a blockbuster main event at the year's Money In The Bank pay-per-view. Saddening rather than maddening, this was a minor step in the right direction from the creative crimes a year prior.
