38. WrestleMania X - Yokozuna Vs. Lex Luger

With both Lex Luger and Bret Hart having earned themselves a crack at the WWF Title at WrestleMania X following their joint victory in the 1994 Royal Rumble, it was Lex who was first to shoot his shot against Yokozuna.

As the winner of this bout would defend the promotion's biggest prize against Hart later in the evening, it was only fair that the Hitman likewise had to wrestle twice, and thus Bret opened 'Mania X by putting on an all-time classic with his brother Owen. While the Hart siblings mesmerised, the same cannot be said for Luger and Yoko.

The bloom was already off the rose by this point with Lex's flag-thumping Lex Express run, and neither he nor Yokozuna got all that much of a crowd response here. Instead, it was special referee Mr. Perfect who the Madison Square Garden crowd was genuinely happy to see.

Plodding, dull, and full of interference spots and rest holds clearly designed for Yoko to not overdo it ahead of his match against Bret later in the evening, this contest was thankfully put out of its misery when Perfect called for the bell after 14 minutes. Miffed that Lex put his hands on him, Curt Hennig DQ'd the one-time Narcissist.
