Ranking Every WWE Title Unification Ever From Worst To Best
1. WWE/World Heavyweight
Where: TLC 2013.
Ding, ding, ding! Here's your winner.
The old World Heavyweight Title had been sucking wind for years before WWE put it out to pasture at TLC 2013. Truthfully, if everyone's being honest, it had come across as a midcard belt at times. By contrast, the WWE Title was still very much the top prize on offer, and everyone knew it.
At TLC, Randy Orton (WWE) beat John Cena (World) in a titular gimmick match to unify both titles. This, overnight, meant that programming was centred around one World Title for the first time since 2002. That'd be the way of it until WWE debuted the new Universal belt in 2016.
WWE kept both physical belts around until the summer of 2014, but this period is fondly remembered because it coincided with the rise of one Daniel Bryan to elite status. Good on Cena for doing the honours and crowning Orton as the solo champ in a top match too.
