Ranking John Cena's WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

7. Vs. Batista - WrestleMania XXVI

John Cena vs. Batista might just win the award for 'Most Likely WWE WrestleMania Match of the 00s'. Their careers had been mirror images of each other up to this point, graduating from the same developmental class and slow burning their way to the top of their brands, winning major championships at WrestleMania XXI. By WrestleMania XXVI they were two of the biggest stars in the company, and a showdown was inevitable. Batista was going through something of a career renaissance at this point, with his wonderful heel gimmick hitting it out the park on a weekly basis. What we got was a surprisingly good match between two big guys, one that exceeded expectations whilst still being as 'John Cena vs. Batista' as one would expect. The ending sequence of the match was a lot of fun, with both men eschewing technique and finesse in favour of just trying to hit their biggest moves as much as possible. Cena would pull out the win, with Dave tapping out to the STF.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
