During the 4 September edition of Monday Night Raw, Ric Flair was rudely interrupted by Armando Alejandro Estrada, who told Flair that he would be Umaga's next victim.

The Samoan Bulldozer then made his way to the ring to take out The Nature Boy. But before any harm could befall Flair, Kane's music hit and the Big Red Machine made a beeline for Umaga, wasting little time in ironing him out.

Prior to this, Kane had been out of action for a couple of weeks as part of his narrative at the time, which saw Umaga rupture Kane's throat. It was thought that the Big Red Monster would be on the shelf for longer, which is what made his return all the more enjoyable. He engaged in a short brawl with the Samoan Bulldozer - and Estrada - before delivering a final kick to Umaga's stomach, which sent the big man flying out of the ring.
