By WrestleMania 25, the Money in the Bank ladder match was an important part of WrestleMania - it was both a way to get several talented workers on the card, and a guaranteed good match.

The Money in the Bank match opened the show in typically exciting fashion. There was carnage aplenty, with Shelton Benjamin diving off a ladder onto a host of opponents outside the ring, and Kofi Kingston draping a ladder over his foes before executing a legdrop on to it. Still, whenever someone attempted to win the bout, he was cut off.

In the end, CM Punk and Kane both climbed the ladder and battled under the briefcase, but some stiff kicks from "The Straight-Edge Superstar" knocked "The Big Red Machine" back down to the mat. After that, Punk was able to grab the briefcase, becoming the only man to date to win a pair of Money in the Bank matches.
