In 2010, the cast of NXT's first season attacked John Cena and CM Punk in a shocker on Raw, proclaiming themselves "The Nexus." This stable of rookies promised to completely upend WWE and change the company forever.

Unfortunately, the whole thing fizzled out pretty unceremoniously, and by 2011, the group was in shreds. Raw had a "New Nexus" lead by CM Punk, while Smackdown boasted "The Corre," a barely-remembered group led by original Nexus head Wade Barrett.

In an attempt to get everyone onto a dismal WrestleMania XXVII, the four members of The Corre - Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel - took on a thrown-together babyface team of Kane, The Big Show, Kofi Kingston, and Santino Marella (despite the fact that Kane was technically a heel at the time).

The match only lasted 95 seconds, and it saw the babyfaces finish the burial of The Corre that started when they were named "The Corre." Santino hit Slater with the Cobra, Big Show punched Gabriel, and then Show pinned the high-flyer for the win. After the match, Kane did the trumpet dance with Santino to officially turn face.
