9. Tiger Mask W Vs Tiger The Dark
In a change from the last few years, it wasn't the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title match which opened the show and it was quite a strange sight not to see The Young Bucks walking out first for the main show. Instead we got this bout which was a tie-in to the Tiger Mask anime spinoff series Tiger Mask W.
Wrestling under the mask of Tiger The Dark was former ROH stalwart ACH, while the guy working as Tiger Mask W sure looked and wrestled a lot like a certain Japanese superstar who took the Cruiserweight Classic by storm on the WWE Network earlier this year.
Again, this was a short match but achieved its purpose. It was a fun little opener which featured some cool moves and promoted the anime series nicely. The bigger question is what Ibushi's appearance as the character means for his future in wrestling, especially as it relates to WWE.
