8. NEVER 6 Man Title Gauntlet Match

Again, this was a match which delivered pretty much what it was expected to as it fulfilled the role of the clusterf*cky tag team battle that the junior heavyweight tag titles had vacated this year at WK.

Held under gauntlet rules, this seemed very much like a way to get everyone onto the show whom New Japan didn't have room for elsewhere. The first fall of the Bullet Club team of Bad Luck Fale, Hangman Page and Yujiro Takahashi defeating the Chaos tandem of Jado, Will Ospreay and Yoshi-Hashi was decent (Ospreay's offence being the highlight), before BUSHI, EVIL and SANADA of Los Ingobernables de Japon made short work of Bullet Club in the second part of the match.

The final fall between champs David Finlay, Ricochet and Satoshi Kojima and the LIJ trio was great, however, and a straight up match between those two teams may have been the better call than having four teams involved here. In the end, LIJ won a fun final bout to capture the belts, as they should have done. The strangest part of this whole match is that Ospreay and Ricochet were both involved but never interacted with one another; a bizarre call given the buzz around their BotSJ match last year.
