Ranking The Last 10 WWE Intercontinental Champions From Worst To Best
2. The Miz
Take a bow for you and your Mrs, Miz.
The eight-time (yes, eight time) IC Champion didn't really come into his own with the belt until his fifth win in 2016. The list-propping wonder Zack Ryder was his victim 24 hours after WrestleMania 32, and Miz held the belt for a stunning 188 days. Each subsequent reign after that only heightened his value to the iconic championship.
Unlike almost everybody else here, Miz spent endless minutes talking up how important the Intercontinental Title was to WWE, the fans, his opponents and himself. That, aided by his already-dynamite mic skills, made the belt seem relevant again after so many years of ghosting from wrestler to wrestler without much purpose.
Miz's most recent run should be credited for dragging the letters 'IC' back into the big time. Fans respected Miz, the belt looked damn good draped over his shoulder (it was always so shiny for a start, showing that he took good care of it) and his smug, pompous work in-ring was second only to one.
