Ranking The Subsequent Success Of Every NXT Champion

7. Neville

One year removed from the Cruiserweight Classic that wowed audiences, the general consensus seems to be that the Cruiserweight division added to Raw in its aftermath has been something of a dud, as repetitive match-ups, 205 Live (another hour of weekly programming in an already crowded schedule) and restrictions on performers' in-ring capabilities have all combined to hinder its impact. Its main beneficiary has been Neville, who has been given a new lease of life by the vicious heel role it has allowed him to play.

A face throughout his run on NXT, Neville is the brand's most successful performer in terms of total title wins, having won the NXT Championship once and the Tag Team titles on two occasions (alongside both Corey Graves and Oliver Grey). His capture of the former led to a lengthy run with great matches against the likes of Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd.

Nothing seemed to really click for the high-flying Englishman on the main roster either before or after the injury that kept him out of Wrestlemania 32, though, as his character was never developed beyond the 'man that gravity forgot' moniker. His Cruiserweight opportunity therefore came at a perfect time.

Neville's new problem is a lack of competition. He has now been through every other sub-205 pound performer of note on the roster. Whatever happens to the Cruiserweight division down the line, however, his name and dominance will always be synonymous with it.
