Ranking The Undertaker’s 27 WWE WrestleMania Matches From Worst To Best
10. Vs. Ric Flair - WrestleMania X8
Over the course of his career - and not just at WrestleMania - The Undertaker has pulled it out of the bag when not many people were expecting him to, and his WrestleMania X8 showdown with Ric Flair is one of the best examples of that.
Let's just state the facts, shall we? The Undertaker of 2001-2002 wasn't known for delivering in-ring classics, while Flair's best days were easily in the rear-view mirror. For those reasons alone, this match just shouldn't have worked. And yet it did.
Forgoing technique in order to adopt a more brutal approach, the match benefited from its No DQ stipulation as it allowed the 'Nature Boy' to get vicious instead of technical - something that covered his limitations well. It also allowed the bullying Big Evil Undertaker to start multiple arrogantly confident beatdowns, only for Flair to stage more than a few memorable comebacks.
In a surprising turn of events, the veterans complemented each other here - as 'Taker carried Flair to a great match while 'Naitch's defiance prevented 'Deadman Inc,' from producing just another lifeless Undertaker '02 match.
