The sight of DX standing across from the Brothers of Destruction is one to be marvelled at - no matter which era it takes place in. However, the same can't be said for match quality, as their first-ever clash at Crown Jewel proved.

Despite that, the pacing in the first half was very good. The face-off received a great reaction from the audience before Kane and Triple H made us wait for the inevitable showdown between 'Taker and Michaels. The three part-timers looked decent in short bursts while 'HBK' was impressive in his first match in eight years. However, when Hunter got injured, things fell apart.

From the botched Irish Whip to the near-botched Chokeslam through the table, the veterans couldn't ad lib their way through 'The Game's injury, so they took him out of the match. This then resulted in Shawn having to take a long beatdown while Trips was examined by E.M.T.s. Following that, the 'Heartbreak Kid' accidentally ripped Kane's mask off on live TV and also landed flat on his face when the Brothers of Destruction failed to catch him in mid-flight.

While parts were fun and nostalgic, others were hard to watch. Oh yeah, and it was a lot longer than it needed to be - which may partially explain the second half's significant decline in standard.

Two decades ago, this could have been a great match. One decade ago, it could have been amazing. Unfortunately, it just came far too late to live up to expectations.
