Ranking The Undertaker’s Post-Streak WWE Matches From Worst To Best
7. Vs. Rusev - The Greatest Royal Rumble
Following his triumphant return to action at WrestleMania 34 last year, 'The Phenom' took on Rusev in a Casket Match at The Greatest Royal Rumble.
Although it employed a few of the legendary scare tactics from some of the classic Casket Matches of days-gone-by, it wasn't a particularly noteworthy bout. It did, however, give us more of a chance to see just how much better shape 'Taker was in following his WrestleMania resurrection earlier in the month. In his first full-length match since the Reigns debacle, he moved around the ring a lot better and performed to a much higher standard.
Though it was bred out of nothing more than the fact that WWE wanted the legend on the card, Rusev did a great job telling a story as he tried to derail 'The Deadman's momentum, and 'Taker deserves major credit for allowing 'The Bulgarian Brute' to prove himself as a worthy contender in a simple 9-minute contest. While this ended up hurting the pacing a little ('Taker started selling very early on which slowed things down), it ensured that Rusev wasn't just straight-up buried.
All in all, this was exactly what it needed to be - a straightforward bout enhanced by the Casket Match stipulation which showed us that 'Taker can still hold his own in a longer match.
