Taker was on a high after finally winning the Royal Rumble in 2007. He chose Batista's World Heavyweight Championship as the belt he would go after. Considering the size of both men, and their pretty similar styles, you would be forgiven for thinking this match was going to be a dull affair heading into it. However, the pair left it all in the ring and put on a compelling contest. Batista, seemingly resigned to losing his belt in the build up to Mania 23, gave as good as he got and ran Taker close. As with any Phenom match while the Streak was still in tact, there was plenty of near falls and big spots. Taker had that knack of convincing you he was going to lose before somehow turning proceedings on their head and claiming the match via a devastating looking Tombstone. Not a match where anything out of the ordinary happened but one of the better, if not the best, big man clashes of the naughties.
