Ranking Triple H's 19 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

3. Triple H Vs. Daniel Bryan (WrestleMania XXX)

As one-half of The Authority, Triple H had spent six months holding Daniel Bryan back from the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Unwilling to accept him as an A+ player worthy of the gold, he had done everything in his power to keep the Aberdeen, Washington native from achieving greatness as champion. But it backfired. Fans hijacked episodes of Raw and SmackDown, made their presence felt at pay-per-view events with ovations of "YES!" chants. Bryan was the fan-favorite, a hero to the blue collar fans. He was the consummate underdog who was always told "no" but never stopped telling himself "yes." At WrestleMania, Triple H stepped out of the designer shoes, stripped off the $1,000 suit and laced up the wrestling boots for the first time in nearly a year to battle Bryan in the night's most anticipated bout. It kicked things off at the 2014 show thanks to a stipulation that allowed the winner to challenge for the WWE Title later in the evening. Triple H immediately targeted the shoulder of his opponent, the same shoulder he had attacked weeks earlier. He was cerebral in his approach, wearing Bryan down with a mixture of old-school technical prowess and his undeniable strength advantage. For three-fourths of the match, The Game overwhelmed his opponent, nearly putting him away on numerous occasions. But Bryan fought back, battling his way back into the bout for the thousands of fans in attendance and those watching at home. He exploded across the ring with the running knee and pinned Triple H to complete phase one of his 'Mania journey. Perhaps motivated by sharing the ring with the man fans considered the best in the business, Triple H took it upon himself to remind the audience that there are few better than him when it comes to taking to the mat. Sure, his later years had seen him rely on brawling to cover up a broken body, but as he demonstrated at WrestleMania XXX, he is still one of the elite professional wrestlers when he needs to be.
