Ranking Triple H's 19 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

17. Hunter Hearst Helmsley Vs. Goldust (WrestleMania 13)

The WrestleMania 13 match between Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Goldust was the culmination of a months-long midcard story the likes of which fans are not privy to these days. The entitled villain Triple H could not comprehend how The Golden One's director/valet (and real life wife) Marlena could possibly turn down his advances. His constant pursuing of the voluptuous blonde bombshell fueled the rivalry and helped it last as long as it did. As it was the climax of an emotionally charged program, one would have expected an intense and aggressive match that saw Goldust extract revenge for the disrespect shown to his beloved. Instead, it was a traditional wrestling match and not a particularly exciting one at that. It was not until Marlena wound up knocked off the ring apron and into the waiting arms of Chyna, who shook her like a ragdoll, that fans became invested in what they were seeing. That is hardly the way to properly pay off a story that so much time was spent telling.
