Ranking What Was Really The Best Wrestling Attire Every Year 1990-2021

19. 2003 - Kenta Kobashi

Bret Hart Young Bucks
Pro Wrestling NOAH

It wasn't going to be Triple H's biker shorts, was it?

Kenta Kobashi wore orange in All Japan Pro Wrestling to reflect his fiery babyface persona. It was a distinctive look that suited the character - a character that always stood in the enormous shadow cast by Mitsuharu Misawa's emerald - and when the time came to usurp his rival and partner as the Ace of the King's Road, Kobashi was savvy enough to take on a new colour scheme. To play the Ace, he had to disassociate his ardent fans from the performer that could never take Misawa's Triple Crown from him.

He wore black to project his dominance and reflect this new phase of his legendary career: from the indefatigable to the invincible.
