Ranking What Was Really The Best Wrestling Attire Every Year 1990-2021

3. 2019 - Pentagon Jr.

It had to go in somewhere.

Much like any style of wrestling, lucha libre is more expansive than its perception through the mainstream lens. It isn't just graceful, agile theatre: the bloody brawls are as nasty as any interpretation of the form. The amazing presence of Pentagon Jr. illuminated this as the range of pro wrestling was brought to eager eyes through the independent boom of the mid-2010s.

As he so eloquently told Tommaso Ciampa, Penta was a bad motherf*cker: fusing theatre and credibility, Penta's ornate, terrifying mask and contact lenses made him look like a deadly mythological creature, and his demented head drops allowed the look to transcend any parody potential.

Intimidation never looked so exaggeratedly cool.
