The best wrestlers know precisely when to do things to achieve the maximum dramatic effect, and Kenny Omega is the best wrestler of all time.

He barely dressed as Hangman Page's tag team partner. Promoting matches wearing shorts and white t-shirts, he only dressed as a superstar when he became a caricature of one: in an inspired meta heel tactic, he arrived, complete with a preposterously overblown entrance, wearing suits and shades the very moment he abandoned his friend. You wanted the "old" Kenny Omega, so Kenny Omega rubbed your face in sh*t. Hangman's, too: with the epic quest ahead of the 2021 title switch in mind, he cast Page as somebody he didn't care about to deepen the sympathy you feel for him.
