In 1999, Chris Jericho arrived as the self-styled saviour of the WWF, and honestly, he wasn't wrong. The only thing saving WCW from utter annihilation was the woeful standard of Attitude Era undercards. Mideon, Godfaher and their ilk clumsily brawling in slow motion was the absolute sh*ts, but Jericho opened the floodgates and WCW drowned when he, Kurt Angle and his Radicalz contemporaries jumped and brought great wrestling with them.

He arrived as the composite of the perfect contemporary wrestling star: a super-charismatic super-worker, 'Break The Walls Down' was an ideal fit. An à la mode rap metal hybrid built with a grandstanding countdown, the discordant chaos of the arrangement reflected the seismic change he brought.
